I just read this article 8 Insider Secrets Before Choosing a Property Manager.  I think this is a terrific piece on the outrageous fees and commissions most property managers charge.  I had no idea the wide range in leasing fees.  Some place try and charge you 100% of the first month's rent and others just 50%.
I also did not know most of these companies charge a $500-$1000 penalty if try and fire them within the first year.  In other words, if they can't get you a tenant and the place sits vacate for months, they can charge you a big penalty for getting rid of them.  That is crazy.
